About us

Our Purpose

At Gwell, we believe that wellness is a journey, not a destination. Rooted in the Welsh word for “better,” our mission is to support women navigating diet-related chronic illness in finding balance and sustainable well-being. From nourishing snacks to comprehensive wellness services, we’re here to help you take small, consistent steps toward feeling better every day.

What do we mean by…

Long-term conditions that are affected by how and what we eat, like PCOS, insulin resistance, IBS, fatigue, and inflammation. They often show up as everyday symptoms like brain fog, weight changes, bloating, or low energy.

It’s not just about knowing what to do; it’s about getting the right kind of support to actually do it. That’s what we offer: tools, coaching, and community to help you turn good advice into real-life changes.

Not a 30-day detox or a perfect routine. Sustainable wellness is building habits that fit your real life, so you can feel better consistently, without burning out.

We celebrate foods, rituals, and healing practices from diverse backgrounds, because wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all. What’s familiar and joyful to you belongs in your plan.

Our evolution

What began as a quest to create clean, delicious snacks free from dairy, soy, and gluten has blossomed into a broader commitment to holistic health.

Areas of Practice

Recognizing the multifaceted challenges faced by women with diet-related chronic conditions, we’ve expanded our offerings to include:

Wellworthy: A weekly newsletter delivering insightful stories and resources that shine a light on often-overlooked topics in health and wellness.

The Gwell Reset: A self-guided group coaching program designed to help you build sustainable habits around nutrition, movement, and mindset.

Healthcare Advocacy Services: Personalized support to prepare for medical appointments, including referrals and customizable templates to ensure your voice is heard.

Our Founder

Hi, I’m Fawziyya Sugai, the founder of Gwell.
My journey with chronic illnesses like fibroids, PCOS, and endometriosis taught me the importance of accessible, supportive wellness resources. Balancing a demanding career in fashion with complex health needs led me to create the very tools I wished I had: nutritious snacks and practical, sustainable wellness strategies.

I’m also a Certified Holistic Nutrition Coach, a role that allows me to guide women with evidence-informed, compassionate support as they build habits that work for their real lives.

Born in Trinidad and raised in Georgia within a close-knit Muslim community, my upbringing was a tapestry of rich cultural traditions and flavors. The kitchen was our gathering place, a space where stories were shared over simmering pots and the aroma of spices told tales of heritage and healing. This deep-rooted love for food is the heartbeat of Gwell.

Every Gwell recipe is a reflection of my culinary journey, blending the vibrant tastes of my Caribbean roots with the comforting flavors of the American South. From the warmth of turmeric to the zest of citrus, each ingredient is chosen not just for taste but for its nourishing properties.
Gwell is more than a brand; it’s a bridge between cultures, a celebration of resilience, and a testament to the belief that wellness should be inclusive, flavorful, and rooted in tradition.

Our Community Committment

Gwell was born in Harlem in 2018, a community where access to healthy food options in some areas is quite limited. We’re dedicated to improving food equity by partnering with local organizations and supporting initiatives that expand wellness education and resources. Our mission extends beyond products; it’s about fostering a community where every woman feels supported in her pursuit of better health.
